Course Outcome

For BA students Course outcomes are as follows:

  1. History:The subject introduces the students to a wide range of themes in history. This enables them with an understanding of the past and helps to contextualize the present with a knowledge of the past.
  2. Economics:A study of the subject enables the students to understand market structures and the theories which underlie it. The students are able to apply economic reasoning to market trends, individual and organizational behavior.
  3. Political Science:The subject places emphasis on value base political studies. It gives the students a knowledge of how Governance and various other administrative skills are employed in government.
  4. Sociology:Social behavior is important for students especially in the current world of technology. Social Media is over taking the minds of the young students. With this a study of Sociology helps the students to understand the social fabric of society, how a human being is essentially a social animal and what his social functions are for a harmonious life.
  5. Optional Kannada:Kannada literature is rich and diverse in its content. Many life lessons can be learnt from a study of Kannada literature. The development of Kannada language which has bestowed upon it the classical status, can be clearly understood by a study of the language.
  6. English:A study of English language helps to reinforce the knowledge of basic grammar. It also introduces various genres like stories, essays, poems, plays and novellas and film based texts. To motivate student to attempt creative writing the study of English language helps students to improve their spoken English and presentation skills. A study of English enables them to operate on a global level.

Program Outcome

For Commerce students programme outcomes are as follows:

  1. Knowledge of commerce
  2. Knowledge and analysis of financial statements
  3. Planning and budgeting of resources and finances in an organization or industry.
  4. Auditing of accounts statements
  5. Use of modern tools pertaining to auditing, filing and filling up of various forms and details.
  6. A knowledge of commerce and how it is useful in society
  7. An Awareness and knowledge of how environment can be sustained and improved. Commerce should help in these inter disciplinary approaches to sustainability.
  8. Ethics is an integral component of any discipline. This promotes an honest growth which proves beneficial to individual and society. The student must know how ethics operates in business and also in life at large.
  9. Team spirit and teambuilding is another aspect of the outcome. The student must know how to work in a team and also at the same time retain his individuality in the team.
  10. Communication is another area where the student learns how to develop effective communication in dealing with ordinary and business situations.

For BA students the programme outcomes in general are as follows:

  1. To equip the students with the knowledge of humanities.
  2. To increase their knowledge base regarding our History, culture, literature, and systems of administration.
  3. Languages enrich students to appreciate the sensibilities of our society. Effective communication renders them with confidence to perform better in society.

Program Specific Outcome
